Sweet Charlie

Charlie at about 2 months old. Technically (gestationally), he was 3 weeks old in this picture, as he should have been born May 6. He just had a Dr. appt. and weighed in at 13.5 pounds -- bigger than the pediatrician's own 4-month-old!

Eloise and Charlie

Charlie began to get acquainted with his very sweet older cousin over the weekend. He seemed pretty stunned by her charm.

Kids in a Crib

Toby, Eloise and Theo turned his crib into a trampoline, shrieking with laughter all the while.

Birthday party

We had a fantastic birthday party (for my 34th) at the Laurelwood, complete with lots of mucking.

Skateboarding with Sandy Berman

Toby has discovered the world of skateboarding thank to some older boys we know, and he uses his old-fashioned xylophone to practice his moves (it helps to have some big hands like Berman's to help out).

The Burtises arrive!

We were so excited to welcome TEAM Burtis, plus Sandy Berman, to Portland for Memorial Day weekend. We had a Hoot!

All together!

Preemie no more

Check out Charlie's spectacular fatness as he napped at the beach.

A boy and his pail

Toby was entertained for a very long stretch by throwing his red pail into the water and watching the waves carry it back to him.

Cannon Beach

We used one of Jack's paternity-leave days to take the boys to the OR coast. It was a hot, gorgeous day -- perfect for splashing in the ocean (big brother) or getting lulled by the wave-sounds into an all-day nap (baby brother).

Blessed mom

With my two beautiful babes on Mother's Day.

Mother's Day hike

The boys took me up to Powell Butte for a sunny hike on Mother's Day. That's Mount St. Helens in the background.

Check out my crib

Toby showed Maia around his crib on a recent playdate. As you can see, she made herself right at home.

What could he be thinking about?

Charlie's due date

Had Charlie stayed inside for a full 40 weeks, he would have arrived today!
